Strategic Plan
In May of 2006 in Minnesota, your Board of Directors had the foresight to accept the Strategic Planning Committee's recommendation for a working session dedicated to hammering out the 'IAWP Strategic Plan'. Julie Brunzell (U.S.A.), Andrea Humphries (Australia), Jane Townsley (England) and I (Canada) prepared to facilitate a day of brainstorming in Saskatoon and on Friday, September 15, twenty-two members of the BOD, that had come a day early to participate, rolled up their sleeves and made it happen.
This enthusiastic group gave every bit of creative energy they had - - and then some! After a full day, the SP Committee used the evening to pull that "blood, sweat and tears" into a formal presentation. Saturday, at the official BOD meeting, members of the Board stepped up and took ownership of their work - - the priority goals of the IAWP Strategic Plan
It is important to understand what Goals are and where they fit into the published Aims of the IAWP. I have reprinted the Aims below. Goals are the subjective pieces and the Actions (or tactics) are the "measurables" that enable us to reach our goals.
Goals identified as the IAWP's priorities have been placed under the Aim that they support; the name of the new "owner" of that goal is below it.
