Thoughts for the Holidays

Happy Holidays
Greetings everyone,

I hope this message finds you well as we are in the midst of what is called "the most wonderful time of the year."

Hanukkah has past. Christmas is approaching.  Boxing Day with Kwanzaa quickly following and New Year's Day is around the corner.

All these festivals and celebrations are designed to be spent with your friends and family.
They are times of reflection and reconnection. Also time to look at the past year, it's accomplishments and decide what you want to accomplish in the new year of 2013.

This year was a year filled with sorrow, sickness and loss. It was also a year filled with Hope, joy and new beginnings.

Some of our members will have empty chairs at family gatherings due to the passing of loved ones.
Some will have empty chairs due to loved one's being away from home for other reasons such as Military Service.

I hope and pray that the fond memories you have of the loved ones who are not with you this holiday season bring you peace and comfort.

Please make the most of this holiday season; pick up the phone say hello to people you haven't talked in a while.

Realize tomorrow is not promised to any of us.  Our time here on earth however long still is very brief.

Say I love you as often and whenever you can, you never know when that's the last time you will be able to say it to someone.

As we approach the new year choose forgiveness.

If you are harboring any ill thoughts or feelings against someone, forgive them.

The act of forgiving will free you to love more strongly;  the act of forgiveness will free you from the unhealthy emotional ties not forgiving causes between you and that person.

We must choose happiness and to live a happy and healthy life.

The people in our lives watch our behaviors, model our behavior, study our behavior.

Let us be good role models, let us be sincere role models, let us model love, joy and forgiveness.

Have a happy holiday season and happy new year.
