Chaplain's Corner

WELCOME to the Chaplain's Corner. This section is provided for our members to come and share their faith. The IAWP is an international organization whose members represent many diverse faiths. The IAWP does not endorse one particular religion.

I have been asked for prayers and how to pray by many people and wanted to provide a few example of prayers. I am available to personally pray for and with you if you desire and can be reached at ChaplainDow@yahoo.com. A prayer for law enforcement is conducted on Friday morning at Prayer Mountain Church which is located in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. My team will pray over your prayer request and they will remain private and confidential.

Each year during our opening ceremony we light a candle and pray for the law enforcement officers worldwide who have had their lives taken in the line of duty. We display the candle throughout the conference in their honor. It is at every gathering or meal because our fallen warriors no longer can be in attendance. This holiday season please remember to pray for the safety of all that are still in service and for the loved ones of our fallen officers.

I am a woman of Faith. I encourage and look forward to hearing from people of all faith.

Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

The Lord's Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

(King James Version of the Bible)

POLICE OFFICERS PRAYERS

A Police Officer’s Prayer
Lord, I ask for courage.
Courage to face and conquer my own fears....
Courage to take me where others will not go.

I ask for strength...
Strength of body to protect others..
Strength of spirit to lead others.

I ask for dedication...
Dedication to my job, to do it well...
Dedication to my community, to keep it safe.

Give me Lord, concern...
For those who trust me and compassion for those who need me.

And please Lord.....
Through it all be at my side.

Police Officer's Prayer to St. Michael

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
            eyes on your earthly force.
Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
            investigation and wise judgment.
Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.
You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.
And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
            the people.

            Amen.

Islamic Prayer

Oh Allah forgive me all my sins great and small, the first in the last, those that are apparent and those that are hidden.

I seek protection in your pleasure from your anger, I seek protection in your forgiveness from your punishment. I seek protection in you from you. I cannot count your praises. You are as you have praised yourself.

Help me to remember you, and thank you, and worship you in the best of manners.

I seek your protection from miserliness.
I seek your protection from cowardice and I seek your protection from being return to feeble old age.
I seek your protection from the trials/ troubles of this world and from the torment of the grave.

Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate (from the truth ) after you have guided us and granted us mercy from you. Truly, you are the bestower.

Our Lord, we have indeed believed, so forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the fire.

Our My Lord! Grant me from you, a good offspring.
You are indeed All-Hearer of invocation.

Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and remit from us are evil deeds, and make us die in the state of righteousness along with Al-Abraar (those who are obedient to Allah and follow strictly his orders)

Our Lord! Grant us what you promised unto us through your messengers and disgraced us not on the day of resurrection for you never break (your) promise.

Prayers from the Quran

Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good in the hereafter that which is good and save us from the torment of the fire.

Oh Allah, Grant health to my body, Oh Allah. Grant health to my hearing, Oh Allah, Grant health to my sight.

All praise is for Allah who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, with no power or might for myself.

Oh Allah, I take refuge with You lest I should stray or be led astray or slip or be tripped or oppress or be oppressed or behave foolishly or be treated foolishly. (slip: i.e. to commit a sin unintentionally)

In the name of Allah we enter and in the name of Allah we leave and upon our Lord we place our trust.

Oh Allah, place within my heart light and upon my tongue light and within my ears light and within my eyes light, and place behind me light and in front of the light and above me light and beneath me light. O Allah, bestow upon me light.

I take refuge with Allah, The Supreme and with His Noble Face and His eternal authority from the accursed devil. In the name of Allah and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, open the gates of your mercy for me.

In the name of Allah and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger Allah. O Allah, I ask you for your favor. O Allah, Guard me from the accursed devil.

I ask Allah for forgiveness. I ask Allah for forgiveness. I ask Allah for forgiveness.
