What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you respond to a survey
or fill out a form.
Any data we request that is not required will be specified as
voluntary or optional.
When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you
may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing
address, phone number and work contact information. You may,
however, visit our site anonymously.
The IAWP does not use cookies on its web pages. "Cookies" is a
service that uses page counters to track visits to our
website. Please refer to the 'do we use cookies?' section
below for an explanation about cookies.
What do we use your information for?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one
of the following ways:
To improve our website by learning which pages are visited
most often
To improve customer service
(your information helps us to more effectively respond to your
customer service requests and support needs)
To process transactions
(your information, whether public or private, will not be
sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company
for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than
for the express purpose of delivering the products or services
requested such as membership cards and the like.)
To send periodic emails
(the email address you provide may be used to send you
information and updates pertaining to the organization, its
conferences, membership, company news, member promotions,
related product or service information, etc.
To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site
feature

like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include
detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each
email.
How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the
safety of your personal information. These security measures
include: password protected directories and databases to
safeguard your information or SSL (Secure Sockets Layered)
technology to ensure that your information is fully encrypted
and sent across the Internet securely.
We offer the use of a third-party providers such as PayPal for
financial transaction processing. All supplied
sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into that Payment
gateway provider database. No one in our organization can
access your information or data. Third-party providers
maintain their own set of privacy policies; we encourage you
to check them for details.
Do we use cookies or web beacons?
None of our Web Pages are coded for cookies. (Cookies are
small files that a site or its service provider transfers to
your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you
allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to
recognize your browser and capture and remember certain
information.) Our web hosting provider uses programs which
generically counts hits to web pages.
Web Pages and HTML emails may contain a small snippet of
code called a web beacon. In their simplest form, web beacons
allow a website to transfer or collect information through a
graphic image request. Websites may use web beacons and
cookies for many purposes, including site usage analytics,
advertising auditing and reporting, and content and
advertising personalization. IAWP does not use cookies or web
beacons.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside
parties your personally identifiable information. This does
not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating
our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so
long as those parties agree to keep this information
confidential. (An example would be the company who mails the
magazines has access to your mailing address.)
We may also release your information when we believe
release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our
site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or
safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor
information may be provided to other parties for marketing,
advertising, or other uses. (An example would be page hit
statistics which are only numbers of hits to a webpage.)
Third party links
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer
outside products or services on our website. These third party
sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We
therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content
and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to
protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback
about these sites.
California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary
precautions to be in compliance with the California Online
Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your
personal information to outside parties without your consent.
As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all
members may make changes to their contact information at
anytime by notifying the
Business Manager
to edit their profile.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA
(Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect
any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our
website, products and services are all directed to people who
are at least 13 years old or older.
CAN-SPAM Compliance
We have taken the necessary steps to ensure that we are
compliant with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 by never sending out
misleading information. Our communications are clearly marked
"IAWP" or "International Association of Women Police."
Application to Join
The application to join the organization requests that you
provide contact information. This information is necessary to
complete your membership services which include a periodic
magazine and e-mailings. You may opt out of either or both
services by informing the Business Manager, the Treasurer, the
Webmaster, or all three. Email and mailing addresses for these
positions are on the
Board Web Page.
Special Member Offers
Periodically, we make special offers available to the
membership. An example is discounted flowers purchased through
a member link. The companies which are making the offer to you
are responsible for managing and protecting your data should
you use their service or accept their offer.
Police Projects and Police Information Gathering
Occasionally, we may pass on to you a request from a
Police Department to voluntarily provide information or
participate in a survey or a similar request, when we
determine the project is likely to further the interest of
women police globally. The response is wholly
voluntary on your part and you determine the appropriateness
of providing details or information personally or from your
Department in accordance with your personal or police force's
guidelines. We may make the requests under our Member
Broadcast Service or through a special link on the website.
Copyright and Trademark Notice
All IAWP (International Association of Women Police)
trademarks, logos, service marks, trade dress, slogans,
copyrighted designs or other brand features (collectively
"Brand Features") will be used only as explicitly licensed by
the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), and only
under the terms and conditions and for the purposes described
if such License is issued to outside parties. No reproduction
or duplication, in whole or in part, of any section, item,
text or graphics found on this Website is authorized unless a
grant of License or Copyright Permission is specifically
issued in writing. The IAWP Website is copyrighted and
protected in full by international law as is the material and
content therein protected by the IAWP. If there is a question
